Verdict

This probably isn’t as competitive as the first division and it may be worth taking a chance on newcomer LARCH HILL, who has plenty of stamina in his pedigree and hails from a yard with a good strike-rate in contests like this. Smith's Bay won on soft going at Taunton last month and is unlikely to be far away again. Skidoosh beat Daydream Aulmes on his debut at Worcester and led for a long way in a much better race at Cheltenham next time but collateral form leaves him with little in hand on Rooster Cogburn. Newcastle winner Star Of Lanka appeared to have his limitations exposed at Musselburgh.
