Bajan Bear may well prove the best of the three previous C&D winners in this race but that's hardly a ringing endorsement. Chookie Royale never looked like winning at Ayr last week while Tukitinyasok was well beaten over a a mile at Redcar, despite finishing second. CLUMBER PLACE was only fourth to Steel Stockholder at Thirsk in May but wasn't beaten far and is 6lb better off here. She's well treated on last year's form and didn't fare too badly at Carlisle last time when trying to make all. This could be her chance to recapture the winning thread.
