Breanski won this last year off a higher mark but this looks a tougher renewal while Motafaawit remains 6lb higher than an earlier success at Ascot. Recent winners Rum Runner and Finoah are both upped in class and the latter would prefer testing ground while That Is The Spirit went close in a lower grade contest at Newmarket last time. Double Kodiac has his first outing since April and Nordic Fire, a winner in France, debuts for David O’Meara. The latter also runs Remarkable, who drops in class along with ARBALET (NAP). Hugo Palmer’s grey has been competing in Pattern company without success since going close in the International at Ascot last summer and can race off a 5lb lower mark back in a handicap today.
