Wildfell has already won four times this year and seems to handle all types of going but tries this trip for the first time. Maximilian Caesar ran well at this meeting last year and won easily over a mile at the track in May. He was no match for an easy winner over this trip at Newbury last month but may just have needed that run and the ground has turned his favour again. Westerton didn’t appear to last home over 1m4f at Goodwood while blinkers might improve Obelix with the Gosdens also saddling Newmarket runner-up Burglar. Sisyphus Strength was only beaten a neck at York after winning at HQ and If Not Now finished fifth in the German Derby in July. Kingfisher King is the least exposed and makes his handicap debut but so does IRON LION. The latter won a novice race over course and distance last time which has worked out better than expected and he could be well treated.
