Back on quick ground Salford Mill gets the nod ahead of the returning Godolphin duo Kirkless and Gravitas. The selection comes here on the back of what appear at face value to be two slightly disappointing efforts, however the bare result doesn't tell the full story. The horse is at his best on quick ground and having been a respectable sixth in the Derby, the ground next time up at Ascot was unsuitably soft. David Eslworth things very highly of his charge and, now dropped in distance again, he is fancied to triumph. Many Volumes was given a great ride by regular jockey Richard Hughes last time out at Newmarket and comes here in good form, as does Duke Of Tuscany however this race is more competitive. Kirkless looks the pick of the Godolphin runners but the three-year-old comes here from almost a year off the track and he may be slightly ring-rusty. Big Robert drops half a mile in trip which looks a good move as he hasn't been getting home, so whilst Gravitas (ex-French but seen most recently in Dubai) is an unknown and could run well, we will side with Salford Mill to get back to winning ways.
