NOBLE MASTERPIECE still looks far from the finished article but his master trainer is letting the son of Dutch Art find his feet gradually and the response is proving positive. After a dreadful experience on debut, he revealed the benefit of a gelding operation when a close third in a Chelmsford sprint maiden, despite refusing to settle and travel within himself. He should take some beating on that latest form alone but further improvement is expected as he becomes more streetwise. Fellow Newmarket raider King Of Paris is a threat in first-time cheekpieces but is more exposed than the selection, although he now tackles a sprint trip for the first time since his juvenile debut.
