    Verdict

Bashiba has won three times over course and distance, including this race in 2015, so can’t be left out of calculations. But Nigel Tinler also runs another track and trip winner in SHEEPSCAR LAD and he boasts the better recent form so gets the nod to bounce back from a more modest effort at Thirsk last time with recent rain in his favour. Merry Banter arrives off the back of a win at Ayr but is back on a career-high mark. Stablemate Tylery Wonder was succesful at Windsor two runs ago and Foxy Forever has been more like his old self lately. Eric Alston’s pair, Acclaim The Nation and Lydiate Lady, warrant a market check and Angel Force faced an impossible task at the weights at York last month, though is also racing from out of the handicap here. Tallinski and Canford Bay look best of the rest.
