Very little appears to have gone right for Gatepost this season but the combination of 7f on quick ground may be just what's required to galvanise him into action. STRICTLY SILVER won a nursery over the C&D last October and has had just three runs this term. He's been touched off over a mile on his two latest starts and a return to this track and trip can see him back in the winner's enclosure. Discression was 6lb higher after scoring at Newcastle but it had no effect as he won even more easily on a return visit. He's been raised another 9lb but is still on the upgrade and has to be on the short-list. Otto The Great looks to have got away lightly with just a 4lb rise for an all-the-way victory at Newmarket and with more to come looks a big danger.
