    Verdict

SOLE POWER is a genuine Group 1 sprinter at his best so this should prove well within his capabilities. The shock 2010 Nunthorpe winner has hardly been out of top level company since that victory on the Knavesmire and though having won only once subsequently, when beating today's rival Kingsgate Native in the Temple Stakes at Haydock in May of last year, his overall form gives him an outstanding chance. Fellow raider from Ireland Nocturnal Affair is a regular winner but never at anywhere near the level of the selection so it could be Masamah, a very good runner-up to Borderlescott at Beverley when drawn badly, who provides the biggest threat. This has never been a good race for three-year-olds so the trio from that age group may struggle.
