This wouldn’t be the easiest ‘getting-out’ stakes and it looks a stronger renewal than the one in which Pea Shooter finished second last year. HAN SOLO BERGER and Afandem both won last time and are drawn bang in the centre of the pack so their jockeys should be able to cover all eventualities. Preference is just for the former, who is only fractionally worse off than when beating War Whisper and Secretinthepark at Newmarket and loves to hear his hooves rattle. Dark Shadow, Roundhay Park and veterans Line Of Reason and Pipers Note would all have each-way claims on their best form while Whataguy could go well at a price under Megan Nicholls.
