      Verdict

A conditions stakes complicated by the fact that a couple of the likely fancied runners are returning from a lengthy lay-off. Fox Tal ended his first season running in a Group 1 at Saint-Cloud but that was 11 months ago. Loxley has been gelded since running at the highest level in Dubai in March but won a Group 2 last year at Deauville. Walkinthesand makes a quick reappearance after finishing fourth at Haydock on Saturday but Elwazir is not proven outside of handicap company. Big Country has finished last in his last two starts but WILLIE JOHN is a previous course and distance winner who can be forgiven his run on soft going at Royal Ascot and he might be the value.
