The Tatling put up a remarkable performance to land a competitive Sandown handicap last time and may be able to follow up in this valuable contest. Milton Bradley's charge missed the break at the Esher course and was well in arrears at the halfway stage but made smooth headway to challenge and, after overcoming trouble in running, struck the front close home to win with something in hand. The son of Perugino looks sure to go well off just a 4lb higher mark and his turn of foot will be a potent weapon in this contest with a strong pace guaranteed. Kathology, Bandanna and Compton Banker all look held on the Sandown form although the last-named had a poor draw and is only 3lb higher than when lifting this event in 2000 so has to be respected. Trace Clip is relatively lightly raced and has claims on his best form while Smart Predator has slipped down to a most attractive mark and appears to be coming back to form but the luckless Halmahera is an infrequent winner and may find this on the sharp side. Sunley Sense has paid the price for earlier wins and now looks high enough in the weights while Injaaz has been raised 7lb for her recent Goodwood victory and looks opposable off her current mark.
