In depth

Verdict

Mana-Mou-Bay spent a long time in the wilderness and dropped like a stone in the ratings as a result. However, he bounced back to form at Pontefract in and has given a good account of himself since then. He faced a very stiff task in the Royal Hunt Cup before landing a similar grade of contest as this at Epsom last time. Ex-stablemate of the Nicholls horse, Lermontov is another who it would be dangerous to write off to quickly, even though he not shown too much sparkle this term. But Mumbling was a convincing winner at Haydock last time out and could well have a little more to offer over this longer trip.
