Verdict

Scarf has claims on his second in a handicap at Meydan back in February though he's failed to build on that since and another chance goes to LOUIS THE PIOUS. He's been unlucky not to have won more races and went close again at Chester a fortnight ago. A head defeat over C&D last year suggests he'll be in the firing-line once again here and he's fancied to reverse earlier form with Grissom. Tariq Too's winning run came to an end at Ascot last time though he'll enjoy any cut in the ground but both Lord Aeryn and Kingscroft suggested a return to form was imminent with better efforts on their latest starts.
