Pure Illusion can give John Gosden another success in this event, with Confidential Lady and Nasheej two main contenders as well. Pure Illusion bids to emulate stablemate Playful Act by following the same path, having also scored at Newmarket before lining up here. Playful Act of course went on to land the Fillies' Mile at Ascot and Pure Ilusion holds the same big race entry, so hopes are high that she can dispose of today's opposition on the way. The form of her Newmarket victory over Eilean Ban has already been advertised, and the daughter of Danehill can make the most of the three-pound that she receives from the top two on the card. Confidential Lady and Nasheej are closely matched on past form, the latter having gained revenge for an earlier defeat at Sandown by beating Sir Mark Prescott's filly in the Sweet Solera Stakes at Newmarket in August. Confidential Lady won a Group 3 at Deauville last time but the ground was soft and she may be taken off her feet by the selection. Spinning Queen and Rising Cross look best of the rest, but Pure Illusion is the one to be on.
