Wicked Uncle has been knocking at the door of late and gets a fine chance to score, with Artie, Steel Blue and Paddywack in with a shout as well. Wicked Uncle, a nursery winner over the course and distance two years ago, has been hard to place since, but in the past few weeks has run with credit at Newcastle, York and just two days ago Musselburgh. On each occasion he has gone down narrowly, and as long as his jockey lets him know who is boss, Steve Gollings' charge will surely be in the shake-up again. Artie is one of the topweights but has shown enough to warrant a mention-he is not badly treated and was a close up third in a conditions event just four days ago. Steel Blue appreciated the ease in the ground when beaten by Cd Europe at Redcar. That was his first worthwhile form for some time and a big run here may be on the cards. Our old friend Paddywack tries his heart out but might have had enough for the season. However, it would be unwise to leave him out as well. Raymond's Pride responded to first-time blinkers at Ayr but has more to do, and in a wide-open contest, Wicked Uncle is as good a choice as any.
