Verdict
Last time out winners Welcome To Unos and Oulton Broad have to be respected but may find things tougher off their new marks and we prefer to side with After Me Boys, who should appreciate the step up in trip. Sue Smith's gelding has run with credit in both starts this term over shorter but won over today's trip at Newcastle a year ago and, with improvement to come after a light campaign, he gets the nod. Topweight Stromness has not looked himself this term; his only success coming when sole rival Alias fell in a match race over course and distance in December. Springfield Scally seems to be a shade high in the weights at present and of more interest may be Hugh Morrison's returning Box Builder, who has been kept fit on the all-weather of late. Mary Reveley's Il Cavaliere is worthy of a mention but for the winner we go for After Me Boys.
