Golden Apollo is hard to win with but has been successful here in the past and again ran well when sixth at York 12 days ago. Theotherside has a better strike-rate and got his head back in front at Salisbury last time but could have done without the 4lb rise. Ivatheengine races off the same mark as when beaten under a length at Newcastle last week but collateral form suggests he may struggle to get the better of the three-year-old NIGHT OF ROMANCE. She has joined Joseph O’Brien since completing a double at Leicester and still looks well treated. Akkeringa won here and at Newmarket in June but failed to handle a step up in class at HQ last time.
