Verdict

PURSUING STEED won with a bit in hand at Leicester on last month’s handicap debut and may defy a rise in the weights. He’s taken to confirm running with second-placed Coverham but Bruny Island may prove a bigger threat after finishing runner-up a Newmarket last time. Eponina went close at Southwell recently and Alfonso Manana was placed over 6f at Thirsk on his latest start. Mont Royal is another stepping up in distance and is preferred to Ocean Princess.
