In depth

Verdict

Legal History’s participation may be in doubt having finished second in the opener here yesterday. Empire De Maulde won easily at Newcastle in January but didn’t have much to beat and Criq Sun is probably best watched on his first run for new connections, though hasn’t been over-raced. Catterick winner THE HERDS GARDEN carried 10lb overweight when well beaten at Kelso subsequently. Racing off his correct mark here, he should be a factor though Zig Zag only weakened at the last at Newcastle after beating a subsequent winner at Wetherby and should also be thereabouts.
