      Verdict

Rated 78, Maxi King is one of the more exposed and has switched yards since last year. He has much stronger form than Ski Jump but Andrew Balding has trained two of the last three winners of this and RIBAL should go well upped in trip having placed at Newmarket in October. King Sharja and Roost are others worth noting over this longer distance while the latter’s stablemate Seahouses can include the high-class Kinross among his winning relatives. The Gosdens run 1.2 million gns purchase and early Derby entry Astrodome as well as the Frankel colt Carlton while Cosmic Soul is another newcomer worth a second glance.
