Only two of the last eight winners of this have started at single figure odds. Four-year-olds are the most successful age group but the effect of the draw here in recent years has dissipated. Nimr won the Lincoln Trial at Wolverhampton three weeks ago with Holiday Magic third and Examiner fourth - he’s only a pound higher switching back to Turf. Sacred Act goes well fresh and won his only start last year. Another Touch beat Sir Roderic at Newmarket last summer and ended the campaign with an excellent second at York. Raising Sand and Father Bertie also did well last year and Mount Tahan may still be well handicapped. Swift Emperor won at Newcastle last month but now races off a career-high mark. It’s rare to see a Sir Michael Stoute runner out this early so the Newmarket maestro must really fancy the chances of BALLET CONCERTO, who made giant strides last summer after taking a Kempton maiden and could be up to winning a pattern race this year.
