This used to be the race that kicked off the Turf Flat season but it’s been demoted down the order and splits this year due to a bumper entry. David Evans usually has his two-year-olds well forward and while an extra furlong or two might suit LAST PAGE in time it would be no surprise if the Pastoral Pursuits gelding was good enough to make a winning start. Almane’s half-brother Frank The Barber took 18 attempts to get off the mark and he’s best on the all-weather but the Orientor colt Primo's Comet is quite speedily bred and could be interesting. Rocket Man Dan cost 37,000 euros as a foal but changed hands for only 12,000 euros as a yearling so is probably best watched.
