    Verdict

Paul Cole's Speed Machine has won on the all-weather track at Deauville but looks up against it in this company. TUPI, on the other hand, probably has the best form coming into the race after finishing runner-up in the Vintage Stakes at Goodwood. The Hannon colt has obvious claims if handling the testing ground, but no such doubts concern TERRITORIES. He beat a subsequent Listed winner in heavy going at Chantilly last month and looks a safer proposition with the well regarded Dewhurst entry Romeo Lima another to note if taking to the surface.
