It won't come as a shock that no favourite has won this in the past 10 years. Stuccodor, who won the Lincoln here last year, has had very little subsequent racing and looked on the way back over hurdles at Galway so he's respected. Portage won a very tough handicap at Ascot last month on only his fifth start and could easily prove Group class which ALGONQUIN already is. Jim Bolger's charge is unbeaten since his debut and stepped out of handicap company to land a Listed contest at Killarney from Devonshire, who has a chance in the previous race. With more to come, the three-year-old grey can take this lucrative prize and complete a five-timer. Have A Nice Day has been in tremendous form since the start of the year but might be just a few pounds high at present while Hint Of A Tint has gone up 9lb for his hard-fought victory over Baraweez at Galway, though that form was boosted when the runner-up scored there a few days later. Hasanour was a very close third in this last year and has continued to run very well though he's a massive 21lb higher as a consequence.
