Eight favourites have won this in the past 10 years. GUERRE has some improving to do after his maiden success here two weeks ago but impressed with his attitude and looks the type to go on to better things. This is a much sterner test but he's expected to pass with flying colours though Shining Emerald is a worthy opponent. After a couple of decent efforts on quick ground, he took advantage of heavy conditions at Listowel to win by no less than 11 lengths so obviously has to be greatly respected. David Wachman has a good record in the race so Pleasant Bay can make progress from his Listed effort here last month and Boom The Groom takes a slight drop in grade after a fair run in a Group 3 here earlier this month.
