Dermot Weld won this a year ago with Famous Name and will be hoping to repeat the process with Emulous, who beat a huge field on soft ground here in October and ran well enough on her reappearance on fast going at Naas. She could probably do with some rain and it's another filly from the younger brigade, GOLD BUBBLES, who gets the vote. Jim Bolger's charge stepped up to an extended 1m2f in the Musidora at York and was only headed in the final strides by Aviate. She should be suited by today's trip and the allowances will help. Emperor Claudius has returned to form with a vengeance though his two recent victories have been gained in very small fields over 7f and this is much tougher. Keredari is probably a bigger threat as he was by no means disgraced in the 2,000 Guineas here after an easy victory on heavy ground earlier. The older horses don't quite look good enough and it will be a surprise if this doesn't go to a three-year-old.
