Verdict

This generally goes to an in-form hurdler and NEVERUSHACON fits the bill. Jessica Harrington's charge just failed at the Punchestown Festival before landing a really tough handicap at Killarney and reverts to the Flat on a very lowly mark. Clongowes has never raced over a trip this far but has an astonishingly consistent record on the Flat having only been out of a place once in 14 starts and that was when fourth in a very tough handicap at Killarney. Laid Back Luke has the form to get involved though would do better on softer ground while it was very testing when Grand Canyon won over 1m1f at Leopardstown. Tony Martin won the first running of this in 2015 and it wouldn't be a surprise to see Golden Spear involved.
