In depth

Verdict

ANTHONY VAN DYCK could not have been more impressive in his first venture into pattern race company in a Group 3 at Leopardstown last month. Moving easily into the lead approaching the final furlong, he quickened away in the closing stages and will take all the beating here. Mohawk took an age to get on top at Cork in June and may need more time but Christmas has improved with every run and landed a Listed race at Tipperary earlier this month. Klute was a 20/1 chance when beating Guaranteed here on debut but the latter went one better over course and distance next time so the form looks decent and Jessica Harrington’s colt has plenty of scope.
