In depth

Verdict

HOMESMAN is in the Irish Derby so will need to win this convincingly to take up that option. He still looked very green when landing a Limerick maiden, where he looked fortunate to keep the race after hanging, so there should be plenty more to come. Percy won a Killarney maiden before finding Group 3 and Listed company too hot at Leopardstown but Roscommon maiden winner Branch Line attempted to make all over 7f at Limerick and stayed on well when headed by the in-form Rock In Peace. Irishcorrespondent could prove the main threat as he was a very impressive maiden winner at Leopardstown where he attracted good support. He has Group 1 entries while Spanish Tenor will improve from his run in a Listed contest on that latter track.
