One of Europe's great juvenile events which has an incredible roll-of-honour in recent years. Aidan O'Brien generally sends his best youngsters for the event and has four entries here but Zoffany looks the stand-out from the yard. The son of Dansili was obviously below his best behind Strong Suit in the Coventry Stakes - his only defeat in six starts - and looked a colt of high quality when landing the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes over 6f here last time. However, he only had runner-up Glor Na Mara half-a-length behind and Jim Bolger's colt was then beaten a further length by PATHFORK in the Group 2 Futurity over the C&D when the other three Ballydoyle entries were behind. Jessica Harrington's colt was confirming the high impression of his easy victory over Robin Hood on his debut here and appears to have more scope than Zoffany. Godolphin won this with Dubawi in 2004 so the unbeaten Janood has to be respected though this is a massive step-up from his recent Newbury Listed success.
