Ger Lyons won this last year with Lightening Pearl and dual Naas winner Lightnin Hopkins has the scope to get involved despite stepping up in grade. Boston Rocker was only just behind him a month ago and has since improved to finish a close second to Three Sea Captains in a Listed event on heavy ground over 5f here. Lewisham's close second to Alhebayeb in the Group 2 July Stakes is strong form but he didn't run up to that level in the Gimcrack at York and remains a maiden. After landing a moderate maiden at Dundalk, GEORGE VANCOUVER was sent to Deauville for the Group 1 Prix Morny and ran a brilliant race to be beaten less than a length by the high-class Reckless Abandon. A repeat of that form should be good enough before he goes on to better things.
