Verdict

Joseph O'Brien won this last year and LATROBE, who is rated 104, will be at short odds for a stable repeat. He earned his high ranking with a second place in a Group 3 over 1m2f on fast going here last month and, with the extra certain to suit ,he should have few problems losing his maiden tag. Tornado Watch has been in superb form over hurdles completing a double at Tramore and Kilbeggan, though both victories came on testing ground and it's difficult to see him conceding a stone to the selection. Baliyad looked in need of experience when mid-division at Navan and will improve while the expensive Desert Chorus is one to keep an eye on for the future.
