In depth

Verdict

Last year's British Champions Fillies & Mares winner MAGICAL, beaten less than a length by Enable in the Breeders' Cup Turf at Churchill Downs, looked as good as ever when dropping back to this trip in the Group 3 Alleged Stakes at Naas last month, having no difficulty seeing off today's rival Flag Of Honour. She's at the head of the betting for the Lockinge and Coronation Cup and this looks a perfect warm-up. Irish Derby hero Latrobe stayed on well into third at Naas but was nine lengths behind the selection and will do better when tackling longer trips. The King is a consistent performer but another who needs further.
