Pirate Chest was sent to Dundalk in December in the expectation of losing his maiden tag but couldn't cope with stablemate Last Crusade. He's no stable star but should be gaining that elusive first success before long. ANSGAR was beaten a long way on his debut in October but it was a different story on his reappearance as he ran a cracker over this C&D when just failing to match strides with Irish Review. Further improvement would see him very difficult to beat. El Gran Torino hadn't shown much before a much improved run behind Red Shaheen at Naas but Gort Na Mona was last of three at Gowran looking one-paced in the process. Kastania should have benefited from the experience gained from her only start behind Misty For Me here last year.
