Verdict

THE GREY GATSBY has joined Dermot Weld from Kevin Ryan and is very well suited by the race conditions as he hasn't won since beating Australia in the Irish Champion Stakes of 2014. All but one of his last 15 races have been at Group 1 level and his trainer should have him ready. The stable also run the very progressive Shamreen but she may just need this after a long absence. Air Pilot beat Success Days a head in the Alleged Stakes at Naas and should just about take care of the runner-up again on the same terms while Moonlight Magic is held by Ken Condon's charge on their run here in August. Johannes Vermeer didn't have much chance in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes and will appreciate this drop in class.
