Like so many of his yard's juveniles, WROTE looked just in need of his debut at Roscommon where he came up against a couple of experienced performers and ran very well to finish third. With progress guaranteed he will take some beating here. Alkazim made such a pleasing debut at Limerick that he was sent off a short-priced favourite at Killarney but found Plutorius, trained by Aidan O'Brien, too strong. The Ballydoyle team should know how they stand on that form and also with today's opponents Leatherwood and Fastidious, who were behind another O'Brien winner in Daddy Longlegs at Gowran. Van Rooney was going on at the finish over 6f at Leopardstown and this trip should prove ideal.
