Balefire followed a decent effort at Dundalk with a good run here though was beaten four lengths into second. Phoenix Open should improve for his run on soft ground at Leopardstown but TRANCHEE is likely to take some beating as he made an eye-catching debut behind Magna Grecia at Naas in September and the form could hardly have been better franked. Morpho Blue, who was two lengths behind in that latter event, went on to run Happen to a short-head at Leopardstown and looks certain to be winning soon.
