Spiorad looked in need of experience at Gowran in June and didn't get going until much too late so it's a surprise to see him dropping down in trip. Minnie Haha showed potential in her first season and started a short-priced favourite when making a belated reappearance at Leopardstown in August but weakened quickly in the closing stages. She'll have come on for the run while it's about time Dawn Trouper was winning a race. Jim Bolger's charge has been running well without managing to find a finishing burst and is fitted with a tongue-tie for the first time. FRIDTJOF NANSEN is another who should have won by now but his overall form, especially when a close third to Astronomer at Galway, suggests he'll be good enough to see off some disappointing opponents who include Winter's full-sister Snowflakes, who was returning from a very long break when mid-division at Listowel last month but could do with a victory for the paddocks.
