Balkos showed his first real sign of form in a novices' handicap at Punchestown though that was over 2m4f. Mattie's Mountain was well supported at Thurles earlier this month but couldn't quite pick up the pace from the last. He'd run well here in January so has to be on the shortlist though it's about time SHANTOU SISU was winning. Still a maiden after 15 starts, he was beaten a short-head over 2m2f here three weeks ago when leading at this trip so compensation awaits. Clody Valley has plenty of weight for his handicap debut but De Bennette gained his only victory over timber here in January so can't be ruled out.
