BACARDYS' days as a Grade 1 hurdles winner are long gone and he's nowhere near as good over fences but he's come up against much better opposition than this and can get off the mark at the 10th time of asking. His former stable companion Scarpeta landed a claiming hurdle here in March but didn't make much of a mark in three starts over fences. Calagogo had Quirt Evans just behind when landing a novices' hurdle at Killarney last August but both have been well beaten over fences while Bold Assassin has had too many jumping problems.
