Verdict
VIVA RONALDO has what could be an all-important experience of this track and he gets the vote over Elegant Cad and Effort. Richard Fahey's stable continue to be in fine form and this Xaar colt must be of interest. He wasn¿t disgraced in the July Stakes at Newmarket when tried over this trip for the first time and with his prior form looking solid and from the plum draw, he could prove hard to beat. Effort drops in class having only managed midfield in recent Group races, whilst Burning Flute's wins have come at a lower level. Elegant Cad represents a stable flying with their juveniles, and he has claims; a win for him would look good for Layer Cake in the next race. Lucky Numbers and Parisian Pyramid come here on the back of solid wins; the latter was very impressive but would need to be more professional at the gates if winning here. Sun Ship and Versaki give Richard Hannon a strong hand, with the former looking the best of his pair. A tough contest for punters, but Viva Ronaldo could prove too strong.
