NIGHT OF FORTUNE is our selection with Wilbury Star and Quatermain the other likely protagonists. Sir Mark Prescott's charge was unfortunate to run up against a useful sort in Shampagne last time out but he has the attribute of decent early pace in the locker and previous form on esoteric tracks. Wilbury Star was well touted ahead of his handicap debut at Newmarket. It would be folly to discount him on the balance of probability. Quatermain would have obvious claims on his earlier encounters with good or faster going. Beautiful Breeze has early pace though his Beverley clock was particularly slow. Red Humour found greenness against him at Kempton but the penny looks to be slowly dropping. River Dee's only victory came in a seller but Amy Weaver went to 15000 guineas to retain him but he has been narrowly beaten off 67 and has been raised to 70. Polish Pride comes off the back of a victory at Haydock and while he seems best when obtaining early cover, connections would not have wanted to be drawn so wide. Night Of Fortune is our selection.
