A good little handicap this one and Daytime Girl looks the one to be on, with Fire Dragon, Bold Blade and Peak Of Perfection meriting consideration. The selection is upped 2lb for a fast ground course success, when she beat Magic Amigo two lengths here earlier in the month. Being by Daylami she won't mind any rain, stays well and has a good draw in stall one, so we can see her trying to make all and score, at a place where course form is a real bonus. She will also get this trip well and we are happy to be on her side. The big danger looks to be Fire Dragon. Jonjo O'Neill's charge makes his English debut after an easy six length success at Killarney last time on similar ground. Proven over the trip, he looks a real threat, but he has gone up 17lb for that win and that is a fair hike by anyone's standards. The Irish win was also in blinkers and with them off here and that extra weight we are prepared to oppose him. The big worry with bold Blade, who won by nine lengths over the trip at Wolverhampton last time, is whether he will reproduce his form on turf. Trainer Mark Polglase has gone on record as saying that the gelding hasn't really taken to turf, which is enough in itself to pass him over. However, if he decided that this surface is now for him, he is weighted to go very well. Of the remainder, Peak Of Perfection runs off the same mark as when landing a Lingfield polytrack maiden last time and with the yard in form he is not one to dismiss out of hand, but he would need to improve a bit back on turf to take close order. The vote here then goes to Daytime Girl.
