This looks a very competitive handicap and a narrow vote is given to Scrummage, with Roman Maze and Chicken Soup seen as the main rivals. It is not often you see a Michael Stoute horse down at the bottom of the handicap, but Scrummage is no world-beater. However he has put in some solid handicap performances to warrant the vote this afternoon. Following two comfortable victories, he was just pipped by Ans Bach in a decent Sandown contest last time and a repeat of that effort could be good enough this afternoon. Chicken Soup put in a stinker at Haydock last time but had previously scooted up here. If ignoring that last run he has to rate a massive danger to all. Roman Maze has a bit to find with Chicken Soup on running here, but is better off at the weights, and could reach the places. However off his current mark, Scrummage looks the best option.
