In depth

Verdict

MALAKAHNA ended last season with victories over this trip at Ascot and Newbury but ran poorly over hurdles during the winter. Back on the level he looks good enough to see off Grand Canal, upped in grade after a comfortable victory on fast ground at Ayr. Three-times hurdles winner Capone has never won on the Flat though went close over the track and trip last time while Percy Jones' only success came in a three-runner race over 1m4f at Wolverhampton.
