The more exposed horses set the standard with Bay Of Poets placed behind Cracksman in the Derby Trial at Epsom recently but both Apex King and Al Hamdany were well beaten in the Fielden at Newmarket last month. Having trained three of last five winners, Aidan O’Brien runs Cliffs Of Moher, currently one of the leading fancies for this year’s Derby. He landed a maiden at Leopardstown in October when easily beating stablemate and subsequent Listed winner Orderofthegarter. But a chance is taken on the Frankel colt and Derby hopeful MIRAGE DANCER, who won on his racecourse debut at Doncaster last year and runs here rather than in next week’s Dante. Majeste was well beaten in Listed company on his comeback but is still preferred to the remainder, including Fujaira Bridge.
