In depth

Verdict

Love Is Golden is 2-3 around here and could go well again if forgiven a poor run at Epsom last week. Vulcan looked to be on the way back at Haydock and Jean Baptiste hasn’t been beaten far in a couple of runs over this trip this year. CURTIZ pulled much too hard on his reappearance at Windsor but still finished ahead of Lawn Ranger. That should have blown away a few cobwebs and Hughie Morrison’s charge should feel at home on this turning track given he won twice at Epsom last year. Golden Melody is a course and distance winner but she’s been beaten off lower marks in her last three starts and Daheer is a Wolverhampton specialist.
