In depth
Verdict
Master Wells would have solid claims if sufficient rain arrived but a safer bet looks to be Golden Boot, who is preferred to Spring Breeze. The last mentioned was good value for his seven-length defeat of Reminiscent at Catterick last time but has been raised 8lbs since then by the handicapper and this looks tougher. Richard Ford's Lago di Como is well treated on the pick of his form but gave little sign for encouragement on his recent return at Nottingham and of more interest may be the Willie Jarvis-trained Macaroni Gold, who has slipped to an attractive mark. Considine is never the easiest of rides, while Whoopsie would probably want a softer surface and a safer bet looks to be Golden Boot, who won well here over 1m4f last month and, off just a 4lb higher mark, has every chance of securing another success on the Roodeye over a trip that he stays well enough.
