Marwan Koukash has two chances of landing this prize and it would be no surprise to see English Summer being backed to reverse recent course form with Be Perfect. Ruth Carr's gelding did run out a clear winner on that occasion but life will be tougher off a 6lb higher mark. Energia Fox has yet to capture the form she showed in Brazil for previous connections so ONE PEKAN makes plenty of appeal at the likely odds. Roger Varian's gelding disappointed over this distance in the November Handicap at Doncaster, but he stayed on well over a shorter trip in June, and the winner of that race has gone on to be placed in a Listed event at Ascot. Innocent Touch responded well to a first time visor in the Cumberland Plate and he should be capable of giving another good account here.
